Is the English Premiership Relegation Battle Over?
Middlesbrough's win moved them five points away from West Brom. Now Sunderland and Portsmouth look destined for the drop. The only question is whether West Brom or Birmingham will end up in that final third from bottom place. Only three points separates both sides.
Saturday, March 11 may be the day when we find out which of those clubs gets relegated. Birmingham play West Brom at 7am ET.

March Madness: English Premiership Style
Disclaimer: FSC is known for changing their schedule around, so let's hope they stick to it this time.
The highlights of Fox Soccer Channel's March menu include:
Wigan v Man United, Monday, March 6, 3pm ET
Chelsea v Spurs, Saturday, March 11, 7:30am ET
Man United v Newcastle, Sunday, March 12, 1pm ET (tape delayed)
Newcastle v Liverpool, Sunday, March 19, 1pm ET (tape delayed)
Liverpool v Everton, Saturday, March 25, 7:30am ET
Plus, in March, we have the second leg of the Champion's League matches to look forward to on ESPN2 (Arsenal v Real Madrid, Barcelona v Chelsea, or Liverpool v Benfica).

How do you watch your Fox Soccer Channel?

Especially in the United States, soccer fans play an unusual type of "game" where it comes to watching soccer on television.
Take this week's Champions League matches as an example. For those of us who work during the day, many -- including myself -- taped the Real Madrid against Arsenal match, as well as the Chelsea versus Barcelona battle.
So we don't ruin the game, we purposely avoid web sites that show the live scores (or the final result) and watch the games at night. It's a game that many Americans have to play because of the time difference (the games kick-off at 2:45pm ET).
And it's a game we're going to play during this summer's World Cup when most matches are being televised on weekdays at 9am, Noon and 3pm ET.
But with Fox Soccer Channel, we face the dilemma of having to play the same type of "game" on weekends too when we want to watch Premiership matches. Other than the typical 7:30am ET and Noon ET live matches on Saturdays, we have to make a decision about the tape-delayed 3pm ET on Saturday and the 1pm ET match on Sunday.
This begs the question: Are you the type of Fox Soccer Channel fan that watches the games already knowing what the final score is (for the tape-delayed games)? Or do you purposely avoid finding out what the score is so the match isn't ruined?

Fox Soccer Channel 0 - 1 GolTV
There was only one live game, the Sunday 1:30pm EST kick-off between Aston Villa and Manchester City (which turned out to the best match). And Saturday's offering of the Bolton-West Ham snooze-affair and the lacklustre Newcastle-Southampton match were both tape-delayed.
The biggest match of all, the Liverpool-Manchester United clash wasn't aired until late Sunday night.
One thing you'll notice about these FA Cup games televised by the BBC is that they always reference the results of the matches played earlier that day in the FA Cup. For example, during the Bolton-West Ham match, the Liverpool result was mentioned.
For the first time in months, I found myself channel surfing away from the English matches on Fox Soccer Channel. During the Bolton bore, I watched a little of the Stuttgart-Middlesbrough UEFA Cup tie, played in mid-week, on GolTV.
And during the Newcastle-Southampton, I watched parts of the Barcelona 5-1 demolition against Real Betis.
How many of you temporarily switched allegiances this past weekend and did the same thing?
Fair play to FSC, the channel couldn't control the fact that Shearer would become injured for the match against his old team. And the last ten minutes of that match were very interesting, indeed, after Dyer's goal and the 19-year old Southampton striker playing as goalkeeper for the last 10 minutes.
